"Reaching The Human Spirit" at the 5th Annual New Hampshire Comprehensive Cancer Collaboration at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord on March 31, 2010.
Jason Aziz is an exercise physiologist at Concord Hospital and holds a Master of Science Degree in Kinesiology from the University of New Hampshire. He has worked in the health and fitness industry for over 20 years, working with athletic populations and people with chronic diseases. Aziz has observed that those challenged with a cancer diagnosis seem to be some of the most motivated in his clinical population. He says, When a true test of an individuals strength presents itself, the patient often sees amazing things happen things which they may have thought never were possible. He plans to convey his insights into what he calls the human spirit that which motivates all of us to persevere so that providers can, in turn, convey this to their patient populations.

During the course of setting up the DESA booth at the Boston ADA Expo I met Jason. It was the day before the annual gala St. Patty's Day parade. You could sense the electricity of bagpipes and kettle drums and green beer in the air. At the Expo, local committee members swelled with enthusiasm, telling people about DESA and our upcoming Boston conference. At the end of the busy day I took the Boltbus ($16) back to NYC. With much caution and care, I balanced the gift of a dozen organic eggs laid early that morning on Jason's farm in nearby New Hampshire. It was a win-win day.
